This calendula salve has a special place in my heart. I used it as a diaper salve from my twins tiny bottoms since birth. It took one smear of the typical gunky white goo that I was gifted from the baby shower to realize I wanted nothing to do with that cornucopia of chemicals on the delicate skin of my two preemies.
So I whipped up a batch of simple calendula salve using flowers from my own garden. Using this salve at each diaper change, and as they grow on each bump along the way, we wanted to share this wonderful salve with all the other babies out there. Keeping with the tradition, we grow the calendula on our own farm using natural methods and no pesticides.
But don't think this is only for babies! It's a staple in our home for dry and chapped skin, small cuts and scrapes, and anytime the skin needs some soothing relief for whatever Mother Nature throws her way. We find it makes a great gift not just for new babies, but for everyone in need of nurturing their skin a bit. Calendula has antifungal, anti-inflammatory, and antibacterial properties that are helpful in healing minor scrapes and cuts, soothing eczema and relieving / preventing diaper rash.
We slow infuse our oils using time and quality ingredients to produce small batches. What we don't grow directly on our natural farm, we wildcraft ethically for sustainability. This makes our botanicals small batch and we only produce a limited amount.
